Telecom Discount Web Site Expected Next Month

A Web site offering federal telecommunications discount applications for schools and libraries is expected to be ready the week of January 12, announced the Schools and Libraries Corporation, an offshoot of the Federal Communications Commission. Libraries applying for the discounts will have a 75-day window during which to file applications, effective the day the Web site is operational. EdLiNC, the Education and Libraries Network Coalition, is offering information on the application process at http://www.itc.org/edlinc/discounts/ or by phone at 1-800-733-6860 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. (est) Monday through Friday.
