Atlanta's Artists

Staff -- School Library Journal, 7/1/1998

At the Atlanta-Fulton (GA) County Public Library, storytellers made music with drums exhibited by first graders as part of smART stART, an arts-in-education program sponsored by Young Audiences of Atlanta. Based on this year's theme, "Africa: Its Patterns, Rhythms, and Stories," students from 14 schools contributed jewelry, masks, maps, Kente cloth, and even a "house" inspired by the designs of South Africa's Ndebele people.
