Major Children's Collection Donated to Boston Public Library

The 4,500 children's books amassed by the late Paul and Ethel Heins, former editors of the Horn Book Magazine, have been donated to the Boston Public Library by their children. The collection includes picture books, international folk and fairy tale collections, classics, fiction, biography, moveable books, and a wide range of reference works.

Researchers will also have access to the Heins' correspondence, papers, and periodicals. The collection will become a separate entity within BPL's Alice M. Jordan Collection of children's literature.
