Proposed State Legislation on Internet-Filtering
Staff -- School Library Journal, 4/1/1999
It's been a busy year in many state legislatures. Judging by the number ofstates (14 and counting), from Arizona to Virginia) that have alreadyproposed Internet-filtering legislation, Judith Krug, executive director ofALA's Office of Intellectual Freedom, says it's likely that more bills willbe filed this year than last. "This is not a flash-in-the-pan trend," saysKrug. "We're dealing with elements of society that don't take no for ananswer."
