Meg McCaffrey -- School Library Journal, 05/01/2002

Looking for materials to help your students gear up for standardized tests? Want to jazz up a history lesson on Christopher Columbus with an entertaining video? These products and approximately 2,000 others are featured in Scholastic Inc.'s first-ever online store for teachers.

The Teacher Store, located at www.scholastic.com, offers books, educational videos, classroom supplies, and software for preschool and K–8 educators. The publisher foresees adding products for high school teachers down the road. The online store offers items from Scholastic, Tom Snyder Productions, Educational Insights, and Grolier, including professional materials organized by grade, curriculum, and specialty area.

The site works like Amazon.com: users simply add as many products to their "carts" as they wish, and then pay by credit card or purchase order. The products are specially priced for educators. Although there's no membership fee, Scholastic requires patrons to register to verify that they are indeed educators. The recently redesigned Scholastic.com site also features a Teacher Resource Center.
