Toni Buzzeo, a library media specialist at Longfellow Elementary School in Portland, ME, has received a starred review from School Library Journal for her first picture book, The Sea Chest (Dial), illustrated by Mary GrandPré. Inspired by the legend of Maine's Hendricks Head Light and Buzzeo's own girlhood memories, The Sea Chest tells the tale of a lighthouse keeper's family who discovers a sodden bundle, washed ashore by a ferocious storm.
