The Bear Facts

Millions of kids and their parents grew up with America's "First Family of Bears." To commemorate the Berenstain Bears' 40th anniversary, their affable creators, Stan and Jan Berenstain, have written an autobiography, Down a Sunny Dirt Road (Random House). The enormously readable account chronicles, among other things, the couple's lifelong devotion to drawing and their fateful first meeting as art students at the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Art.
