SLJ’s MULTIMEDIA BUYERS’ DIRECTORY is a listing of new and forthcoming videocassettes, slides, prints, transparencies, and recordings released between January 2002 and December 2002. The Directory includes announcements of 745 items, both individual titles and series, from 139 companies.

The information for these listings, including the annotations, was provided by the producers/distributors. The listings and descriptions of the programs in SLJ’s Multimedia Buyers’ Directory are not a recommendation for purchase. On their release, these items will be assigned for critical review in the “Multimedia Review” section of SLJ.
Many releases from home video firms, which are inexpensive but curriculum related, have public performance rights built into their prices; other home video titles are for home use only. We suggest that you check with these distributors to ascertain their policies.

Subject Classifications
The annotated listings are arranged under 53 subject categories which are grouped within 9 broad subject classifications. Titles are listed alphabetically under each medium within each category. Subject classifications were assigned by the producers/distributors.

Grade Level
Titles included in the Directory are designed for preschool through senior high school audiences. The designation “Up” following the grade level (e.g., Gr 9 Up) indicates that an item is also appropriate for audiences above the 12th grade. The designations “PreS” and “K” indicate preschool and kindergarten respectively. Grade levels were assigned by the producers/distributors.

Format Information
We asked producers/distributors to provide complete bibliographic information for each title submitted for listing. However, for those programs still in production when the Directory was being compiled, running time and price often were undetermined and not supplied.
 The Distributors Directory, at the end of these listings, gives the names, addresses, telephone numbers, and Web sites of the companies from which the items listed here can be ordered.
