A Special Toy Story

Staff -- School Library Journal, 11/1/2002

The Palm Harbor (FL) Library now offers a circulating collection of toys adapted to the needs of disabled children, thanks to assistant director Lois Eannel, who wanted to meet the needs of patrons traditionally underserved by libraries. The collection includes about 60 toys, which have large, colorful switches and other features designed for kids with cerebral palsy or autism. Eannel received funding from local agencies, including United Cerebral Palsy, and other community resources.
