on this article

ProQuest Information and Learning announced early in December that it had planned to reacquire bigchalk, the online K–12 education services vendor, by the end of 2002. Mark Trinske, ProQuest's vice president of investor relations, says that ProQuest had created bigchalk in 1999, but ProQuest sold 62 percent of the education vendor during the dot-com boom. ProQuest plans to complete its acquisition of bigchalk by the end of December, and reveal its plans for the company soon after. Trinske says that for the time being, bigchalk's operations and products will remain the same.
