Move over, Barbie. A 5 ¼-inch-high plastic librarian action figure—with glasses, a practical haircut, sensible shoes, and a raised finger ready to shush—is making its debut. The new doll is modeled after a real librarian, Nancy Pearl, the director of the Washington Center of the Book at the Seattle Public Library. The doll is available online from Accoutrements (www.accoutrements.com) for $8.95 and will appear in stores this fall.
