Painful Reading
Some Harry Potter fans may be getting too much of a good thing. A pediatrician reports that several young patients have developed "Hogwarts headaches" and neck strain after reading the 870-page Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix for up to eight hours a day. In a letter to the New England Journal of Medicine, Dr. Howard Bennett, of Washington, DC, says he encourages children to continue reading the book, "but to take a break periodically."
Dr. Seuss Goes Postal
The U.S. Postal Service has unveiled a new 37-cent stamp featuring the beloved children's book author Theodor Geisel, otherwise known as Dr. Seuss. The stamp, which includes some favorite Seuss characters—the Cat in the Hat, and the Grinch, messing with his creator's tie—will be issued March 2, 2004, on what would have been the author's 100th birthday.
