Library Funding Still Unclear

By Staff -- School Library Journal, 11/1/2004

Library supporters are awaiting a congressional vote on library funding for FY 2005, following an October proposal by the Senate Appropriations Committee to fund Library Services and Technology Act programs at $223.5 million. Although the House has already proposed $219.9 million in funding for libraries next year, both the House and the Senate must agree on final figures. A vote is expected some time after the November 2 presidential election.
