A Modern Nancy Drew

By Staff -- School Library Journal, 12/1/2004

Nancy Drew may be turning 75 next year, but thanks to a complete makeover by Simon & Schuster, the girl sleuth is now an Internet-savvy, cellphone-toting, strawberry blonde teenager. Re-launched last spring, the classic Nancy Drew Girl Detective series by Carol Keene now has eight new titles completely rewritten in the first person by ghost writers. The series has already shot straight to The New York Times bestseller list. The official 75th anniversary celebration takes place next summer with the launch of Where's Nancy?
