Sydney Taylor Centennial

By Staff -- School Library Journal, 12/1/2004

To celebrate the centennial birthday of Sydney Taylor, the Association of Jewish Libraries has compiled a new readers' guide for All-of-a-Kind Family, Taylor's classic children's series about five spirited sisters growing up on New York's Lower East Side. Look for a section on Taylor's life by biographer June Cummins and an essay about the book's setting by Hasia Diner, a professor of American Jewish History at New York University. The guide is free and can be downloaded at www.jewishlibraries.org.
