Henkes Wins Zolotow

Kevin Henkes, author and illustrator of the 2005 Caldecott Medal–winning Kitten's First Full Moon(Greenwillow), has received the Charlotte Zolotow Award for outstanding writing in a picture book. Zolotow was a children's book editor at Harper Junior Books for 38 years and an author of more than 70 picture books. The award is given by the Cooperative Children's Book Center, a library of the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin.
