Harry Sets the Record

By Staff -- School Library Journal, 5/1/2005

Holy Hogwarts! The first printing of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince—volume six of the series—boasts a record-breaking 10.8 million copies. That's one door-stopper for every two of the nation's five- to 14-year-olds. To accompany the astounding print run, Scholastic (www.scholastic.com) has launched a "100-Day Countdown to Harry" promotional campaign, which features a downloadable countdown clock, guaranteed to keep young hearts pounding until the book goes on sale at midnight, July 16.
