Penguin Parade
National Geographic Books has released a March of the Penguins children’s book to coincide with the November DVD release of the hit documentary. Like the film, the book captures the story of the emperor penguins’ yearly Antarctic odyssey and the long months of endurance as they raise a new generation of penguin chicks. Combining images from the movie with text drawn from the film, the book is written for children ages five to nine and is illustrated with vivid color photographs, most by March of the Penguins cinematographer Jérôme Maison.
In the Night Kitchen
A new theater company is producing full-length theatrical works designed to introduce today’s youth to the thrill of discovering a play—not in a theater, but on the radio. The Kennedy Center, the Night Kitchen Radio Theater, and XM Satellite Radio have teamed to produce the radio series, “The Kennedy Center Presents the Night Kitchen Radio Theater Live on XM Satellite Radio.” Starting December 21, the dramas, which include The Emperor’s New Clothes, will be performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, and broadcast over XM. Actress Debra Winger, will star in one of the productions.
