'SLJ' Columnists Nab Award

School Library Journal's “First Steps” column by Renea Arnold and Nell Colburn was selected as best column of the year by the Association of Educational Publishers (AEP). Arnold and Colburn, who both specialize in early childhood at the Multnomah County Library in Portland, OR, provide research and advice on the hottest issues in early childhood development. “Over the past few years, the column has become a 'must-read' for librarians who work with young children,” says SLJ Editor-in-Chief Brian Kenney. AEP is a professional organization for educational publishers.
