Coming Soon: $50,000 in AASL Grants

In 2007, the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) is devoting $50,000 to awards, grants, and scholarships for librarians in 13 separate categories. Among the awards are the AASL Collaborative School Library Media Award, a $2,500 prize for collaborations between media specialists and teachers; the $5,000 Highsmith Research grant for innovative research that measures the impact of library programs on learning; and the $10,000 National School Library Media Program of the Year Award, which recognizes exemplary district and single-school library programs.
