Absolutely Fabulous: Sherman Alexie

-- School Library Journal, 12/1/2007

Sherman Alexie's The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian (Little, Brown) is this year's winner of the National Book Award for young people's literature. The autobiographical story of a 14-year-old Spokane Indian beat four other finalists. “Obviously, I should have been writing YA all along,” Alexie told an audience on November 14 while receiving his award at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
