Scholastic Gets Greener

By Staff -- School Library Journal, 2/1/2008

Scholastic has strengthened its sustainable paper procurement practices by setting goals to increase the percentage of Forest Stewardship Council-certified paper and post-consumer waste (pcw) recycled paper it purchases.

At the same time, the company has also launched an interactive “green” Web site for kids called Scholastic ACT GREEN! (www.scholastic.com/actgreen), designed to educate kids about climate change and sustainability, and inspire them to take action to preserve the planet. There are also tips and resources for parents and teachers, including “100 Ways to Act Green.”
