SLJ Staff -- School Library Journal, 4/14/2008 9:27:00 AM

If you’ve always wanted to see Caldecott Award medalist David Macaulay, here’s your chance: On April 17, Macaulay will deliver the 2008 May Hill Arburthnot Honor Lecture in Madison, WS. And for the first time, this annual event will be streamed online.

Viewers can watch the hourlong event live via streaming video, beginning at 7 p.m. (CT).

Macaulay is the author and illustrator of those amazing pen and ink drawings of books on architecture and design. His books include Castle (1977), Mosque (2003), Cathedral (1973) The Way Things Work (1998), and the Caldecott winner Black and White (1990, all Houghton Mifflin).

The 2008 May Hill Arbuthnot Honor Lecture is presented by the Association for Library Services to Children and is hosted by the South Central Library System in Madison, with support from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and the South Central Library System Foundation.

For those in the Madison area, tickets are available for purchase online at ALSC Web site.
