Hugo Cabret in Good Hands

-- School Library Journal, 6/1/2008

Author Brian Selznick is confident director Chris Wedge will do an amazing job bringing The Invention of Hugo Cabret (Scholastic, 2007) to the big screen.

Selznick says he's looking forward to seeing how the Ice Age and Robots director will incorporate his command of technology into the live-action film. The Caldecott-winning author, who had many producers vying for the movie rights, went with Grey Rembert, vice president of development at the Graham King company. John Logan, who wrote the screenplay for The Aviator and Sweeney Todd, has also signed on. Johnny Depp's production company Infinitum Nihil is coproducing the Warner Bros. film with Graham King's Initial Entertainment Group.
