Volunteers to Support Chicago School Libraries During ALA Annual

More than 100 American Library Association volunteers from across the country will help reorganize, catalog, clean, and weed and shelve books at nine Chicago school libraries on June 10 as part of a daylong community service effort during ALA’s annual conference in the Windy City, from July 9-15.
Coordinated by ALA’s by Chapter Relations Office, volunteers participating in “Libraries Build Communities” will convene at 8 a.m. at McCormick Place, Gate 42, to depart for their assigned work sites throughout the city.
The school libraries include:
- Academy for Global Citizenship School, 4647 W. 47th
- Crane Technical Prep High School, 2245 W. Jackson.
- George B. McClellan Elementary School, 3527 S. Wallace
- James Russell Lowell Elementary School, 3320 W. Hirsh
- Josiah L. Pickard Elementary School, 2301 W. 21st Place, Chicago.
- McAuliffe Elementary School, 1841 N. Springfield, Chicago
- Robert Healy Elementary School, 3010 S. Parnell, Chicago
- Robert Healy Satellite Elementary School, 3040 S. Parnell
- South Loop Elementary School, 1212 S. Plymouth, Chicago
