Mix It Up at Lunch Day

-- School Library Journal, 09/02/2009

Looking for a way to promote tolerance and diversity at your school or library? Put Mix It Up at Lunch Day, November 10, on your calendar. The concept is simple: students are encouraged to take a different seat than normal in the cafeteria. Part of the Teaching Tolerance project, sponsored by the Southern Poverty Law Center, Mix It Up at Lunch Day aims to break down social boundaries and discourage bullying, homophobia, intolerance, and racism. There are dozens of activities available on the Web site to help jump-start your own Mix It Up program.
