Last Friday many of us paused to remember that harrowing day eight years ago when terrorists attacked the World Trade Center. A memorial and museum are being planned on the site, dedicated to the people who lost their lives that day.
This site will show you not only what the memorial will look like, including the placement of the roughly 3,000 names of those who perished, but also about the winning architects and their design. You can also learn about what will be in the museum, and the collection of artifacts and remembrances that have already been gathered. Probably the most moving section is “Make History,” where folks from all over the country have shared their thoughts, photos and videos, stories, and accounts of September 11, 2001. Finally, don’t miss out on all the great information in the “Learn” and “Explore” sections. The information and images will help older kids and teens better understand and more fully appreciate why on 9/11 we should all take the time to remember.
