Love Books? Help Econo-Clad Count the Ways
Staff -- School Library Journal, 6/1/2001
Econo-Clad Books is challenging elementary school students to create their own books—everything from the writing and illustration, to the actual binding. The "100 Days, 100 Ways" contest will award $5,000 to the first-place winner, as well as 250 free books, two Reading Eagle reading corners, and a visit from Mike Thaler, author of the Black Lagoon series. Each submission should be entitled "100 Ways I Love to Read." Entries must be received no sooner than August 19 and no later than November 16. (For more information, go to www.econoclad.com.) "We hope our contest will promote literacy, celebrate and inspire reading and writing, and create fun activities to tie in with a school's first 100 days," says Jim Zicarelli, CEO of the Sagebrush Corporation, Econo-Clad's parent company.
