World Book Means Just That: L 'Encyclopédie Découverte
April 11, 2008

World Book Inc. is making the content of their World Book Student Discovery Encyclopedia available in French, as well as in Spanish. Encyclopédie Découverte (“written for younger readers that are native French speakers and older students and adults for whom French is a second language”) joins World Book’s Enciclopedia Estudiantil Hallazgos in helping to create multilingual researchers at early ages.

L’ Encyclopédie contains the content (encyclopedia articles, dictionary entries, photos, illustrations, diagrams, and maps) of the original World Book Student Discovery Encyclopedia, as well as a visual dictionary in both French and English, with thousands of images with over 12,000 descriptive labels (English links can be disabled if French only is desired). Get in touch with your World Book rep for more information.

[A note to the wise for World Book: I love your products, but your web sites drive me nuts. I still can’t find an online link to the Enciclopedia Estudiantil Hallazgos product, and I’ve been searching for over ½ hour. And “World Book's dedicated school and library ordering site (http://www.worldbookonline.com/sales)” is even less helpful – I could find neither Encyclopédie Découverte or the Enciclopedia Estudiantil Hallazgos there. I'm leaving the links in this piece "as is," to show just how unhelpful your sites are. Given that web access is a, well, given in 2008, can you please do something about this?]

More as it happens,

Cheryl
