Judge Wynne-Jones

April 18, 2009

Tim Wynne-Jones, our first match judge for this second round, started out as a fifth-grade liar who realized that his mother's question "What did you do at school today?" was an invitation not to be lightly dismissed. He started writing seriously as the lead singer and front man for a seventy's rock band called Boogie Dick, in which Tim wore ceremonial robes, painted his face paisley and played electric baseball bat. Okay, the writing wasn't that serious but he began trying to get the words right. Finally, he wrote his first novel as an antidote -- a kind of twelve step narrative recovery program after finishing an MFA in visual arts. That was thirty books ago. His latest novel is a young adult psychological thriller called The Uninvited to be published very soon by Candlewick Press -- as in May!

Ok, Ok, I know the answer is mostly likely the negative, but how many people can have Wynne, and Jones in their names and be fabulas writers? Is there any biological connection?

None that we know of. Pure coincidence, but a fun one!
