K12 Online Conference: The Keynote
October 8, 2007

I took a little extra time at lunch today to attend David Warlick's keynote for the K12 Online Conference.
A full conference schedule is located here.

Make time to attend this conference.  As they share their own vision and practical strategies, these presenters will likely set a new agenda for learning in 21st century classrooms. If teacher-librarians are to lead learning in our schools, we must be part of this experience.

Today, David beautifully captured how teaching and learning are forever changed by three converging conditions: information-savvy students, a new information landscape, and our students' unpredictable future.   David's talk itself walked the walk as an example of a new knowledge product and it framed how important it is for us, as teacher librarians, to rethink student challenges and projects.

I wish DW's Keynote had been the focus of a PD day at school rather than a presentation about the instructional trend du jour (featuring folded paper and arm motions: Please!)
