A conversation with Marco Torres

November 10, 2009 Ernie Cox and I had the opportunity to chat with Marco Torres shortly after his inspiring keynote. We chatted about reading and writing as a means to an end; about studio, stage, and community; engaging, empowering, and involving; about quick victories; about the importance of emotional connection; and about getting kids to fall in love with learning.  One of the many echoing quotes (one Marco does not himself claim): "You've seen one 4.0 kid, you've seen them all."

Marco mentioned some of his Web resources during his keynote.  These two are truly essential tools for teachers and librarians who encourage learners to create.  Way too good to miss!

He is such an inspiring educator. I keep going back to the quote "We need to support kids in being creators of information instead of receivers of information." I used it today in our school leadership team meeting.
