New on the Ning: Information Fluency
October 1, 2007
Share, Learn, Connect! Carl Heine and Dennis O'Connor, of
IMSA's 21CIF project, invite you to join their new
Information Fluency Project Group on our
TeacherLibrarian Ning. This professional social networking group is already growing strong!
Carl and Dennis define the mission:
to build a professional social networking group for educators interested in information fluency, educational technology and library media studies. This is a way for us to talk, share ideas, and exchange resources. Help us help you.
Dennis and Carl (and the Ning in general) offer group members:
• Early access to new games and curriculum resources.
• Your own home page complete with blog, photo, video, and messaging services.
• Conversation with a network of like-minded professionals.
• A chance to explore social networking in a safe and friendly environment.
Among the early discussions are a new conversation on the toughest fluencies to teach and a call for beta testers for
Paraphrased or Plagiarized?, a free, new interactive game on plagiarism which will soon join the other excellent activity modules already part of the
Full Circle Resource Kit.
While you are visiting the
TeacherLibrarianNing, don't miss the other flourishing groups, which include Judi Moreillon's
Building a Culture of Collaboration, Anita Beaman's
YA Lit in School Libraries, and the
High School Teacher Librarians' Group. Why not start a group yourself?
If information fluency is your mission, join this discussion, tell your friends, and contribute to the development of these excellent resources.
