EduCon 2.0
December 12, 2007

EduCon 2.0 is both a conversation and a conference.
If you have any interest in the use of 2.0 applications in education or in re-visioning learning in new communication and information landscapes, please consider attending Educon 2.0. Join our conversation, this time face-to-face.
Birthed at
Edubloggercon at
NECC last summer, this (un)conference aims to mix the thinking of some of
bloggers/thinkers/practitioners you read regularly with the wisdom of practitioners of all levels of 2.0 involvement. Conversations are hosted by
Chris Lehmann, blogger, educational reformer, and principal of the
Science Leadership Academy.
Chris describe the conference:
. . .it is not a technology conference. It is an education conference. It is a School 2.0 conference. It is, hopefully, an innovation conference where we want to come together, both in person and virtually, to discuss the future of schools. Every session will be an opportunity to discuss and debate ideas -- from the very practical to the big dreams.
At
$50 registration, it's a bargain. Check out the
list of conversations scheduled so far.
The rough game plan:
- Friday will be a site visit to SLA, offering opportunities to talk wuth SLA students and faculty about their experiences starting a school.
- Saturday opens with a keynote by the Deputy Chief Academic Officer of the School District of Philadelphia, Al Bichner, and is followed by a day of sessions. Chris is planning a social event for Saturday night.
- Sunday opens with a panel discussion including Will Richardson, Gary Stager, Sylvia Martinez, David Jakes, Chris Lehmann, and me, featuring audience-generated discussion.
Among the other librarians coming are
Cathy Nelson and
Carolyn Foote. Join us in Philadelphia?
