BLC Confumentary: On super powers for the classroom
July 20, 2008
I've spent the past week at
Alan November's Building Learning Communities in Boston.
This month, so filled with conferences, brought me back to a long-ago summer when I was ten. At the same time the
World's Fair landed in New York, I was due to go to
summer camp. Though the family went without me while I was away, I got my fill of the fair after camp.
Both were overwhelming experiences.
While
NECC was the
World's Fair for me--overwhelming and exciting and thrilling,
BLC was the best of summer camp experiences. More intimate, BLC was a place I was better able to establish connections and solidify friendships and share ideas. We sang on the bus and we danced on the boat.
Like that
Cowboy Boot video I recorded at NECC, the video above will give you a feel of the energy we shared in Boston, as well as a little taste of the fun we had. (Is
confumentary too confusing a term?)
Coming next: My Pandora presentation podcast and reflections on some of the amazing speakers I heard.
