And thanks to bookshelves of doom we learn that Love You Forever has, for inexplicable reasons, been promoted as a good thing in an article. There is, after all, a reason for the book's inclusion on branch #2 of The Triumvirate of Mediocrity.

Over the years there have been several lively threads about LYF on childlit. fairrosa has one of them on her site. Since slj commenting won't let me give the URL google "fairrosa" and "love you forever" and the first link is the discussion.
