Video Sunday: I Was Told There Would Be Vampire Baseball May 11, 2008
The goodies were too plentiful this week. I will need to parsel them out for those inevitable video dry spells we sometimes face. Now Leila said that everyone had seen this already, but I for one completely missed it. I'm glad she brought it up as it is half a sandwich shy of brilliant.
I was searching about, trying to find a That Mitchell and Webb Look video clip that I saw on the BBC not too long ago. It involved a librarian viciously tearing a woman to pieces over her tawdry reading choices in an attempt to get a date. Gold! Instead, I found this video. Again, it's Mitchell and Webb, but it reminds me of some of the reference interviews I've had in the past.
Can't blame him. I'd have handed over that stamp too.
A couple people posted this one this week, but I got my link from bookshelves of doom and Becky's Book Reviews. It's that sparkly vampire book turned into a sparkly vampire movie.
How did I know? How did I, how did I, how did I know that that Twilight teaser trailer would contain the one superhero moment where Edward stops the car? They be boying it up. But talk about mundane. Were it not for the overwhelming popularity of the book, I'd wager that this movie was bound to join the vast forgotten ranks of Blood and Chocolate (remember Blood and Chocolate?).
Speaking of trailers, this little book trailer comes to us thanks to Daphne Grab, resident author and Longstocking, for her Alive and Well in Prague, New York.
And finally we end today with a little bit of fluff that reminded me of nothing so much as Sebastian Meschenmoser's book Learning to Fly. Thanks to mom for the link.
