You Can't [Trap?] Me in a Penthouse...
October 3, 2007

  • In the wake of finding an ice cream parlor serving such selections as Luna Lovegood Pudding (pudding flavored) and Sirius Black (dark chocolate) Caroline Hickey urges authors to "flavor your characters". I have no characters, but I can think of a couple flavors I might be able to attach to titles out this year.
  • I didn't make the cut on the first Kidlit Blogger Wordfind, but fortunately Sam Riddleburger extended it to make the second much bigger one. I was kind of hoping he'd include an incongruous number 8 in there, but he opted for the easier lettered version. Now to figure out how to insinuate myself onto his blogroll...
  • This is amusing. I'm apparently faster at getting out news via podcast than blog. In any case the Cybils are ready for your nominations. Remember, duplicate nominations do NOT help a book. Read the instructions carefully.  I promise to do a far more complete posting later this week.  Pinky swear!
  • I really enjoyed Click, the collection of connected short stories written by a shockingly wide array of authors. And now I see that there's a great Morning Edition discussion with Linda Sue Park, editor Arthur A. Levine, and Ruth Ozeki about the title. Thanks to Shaken & Stirred for the link.

Thanks to BB-Blog for the link.

Wow, I wonder what the birdies think of that. Freaky.
