In the wake of finding an ice cream parlor serving such selections as Luna Lovegood Pudding (pudding flavored) and Sirius Black (dark chocolate) Caroline Hickey urges authors to "flavor your characters". I have no characters, but I can think of a couple flavors I might be able to attach to titles out this year.

I didn't make the cut on the first Kidlit Blogger Wordfind, but fortunately Sam Riddleburger extended it to make the second much bigger one. I was kind of hoping he'd include an incongruous number 8 in there, but he opted for the easier lettered version. Now to figure out how to insinuate myself onto his blogroll...

This is amusing. I'm apparently faster at getting out news via podcast than blog. In any case the Cybils are ready for your nominations. Remember, duplicate nominations do NOT help a book. Read the instructions carefully. I promise to do a far more complete posting later this week. Pinky swear!

I really enjoyed Click, the collection of connected short stories written by a shockingly wide array of authors. And now I see that there's a great Morning Edition discussion with Linda Sue Park, editor Arthur A. Levine, and Ruth Ozeki about the title. Thanks to Shaken & Stirred for the link.
