Lazy Bird Photo Fun Day
November 3, 2009
Which is to say, I've a whole mess o' stuff to do so let's just look at some photos for fun, rather than writing up (oh say) a review or a preview recap.
First up, we had a lovely Read for the Record event in my branch not too long ago. Special guests included (but were not limited to):
A Very Hungry Caterpillar
Let the record show that I was convinced that children would find it the scariest darn thing ever made. I couldn't have been more wrong. Children were thoroughly charmed by it. I bow my head in apology.
Eric Carle
Seen here giving the caterpillar a once over. I like how clear it is that the caterpillar knows its master.
Mary-Louise Parker
A blond woman from Law and Order: SVU
I'm aware that it would take very little research to figure out who she was. But it's SVU.
And finally here are Mary-Louise and Eric Carle reading the book together to the kids. Aw.
In other news I recently went to the home of Emily Dickinson.
And finally, for Halloween I went to a fabulous Edward Gorey-themed Halloween event called The Dwindling Party seen here.
Here you can see Lori Ess, Queens librarian, as K is for Kate (who, if you know your Gorey, was felled by an axe), and her husband Josh as the umbrella carrying spectre of death.
He was not the only spectre of death present that day.
Particularly when there was theremin playing to be done.
