List of Authors/Illustrators. Met, Loved, and Tripped Over. (Part Two)
June 29, 2007
I also met Laura Amy Schlitz during the conference, but she's a rather private person so I won't go bandying about the facts of the matter. Except to say that I want her hair, of course. Laura Amy Schlitz rules the roost in terms of magnificent hair. Now go read
A Drowned Maiden's Hair. Go!
Uh... who else, who else. All the Newbery and Caldecott winners... um. Oh!
Amy Hest signed a copy of her newest book for my little niece. That was nice. She used to work for New York Public Library (St. Agnes branch?) and we were able to talk about library folk that left long before I started at the place (but that I still receive the mail of).
At this point it all gets foggy. Did I hug Cecil Castellucci at one point? Could be. Did I hobnob with Cornelia Funke and Natalie Babbitt? Definitely not. In any case, I had a lovely time. And next year I'm bringing my friggin' camera and making my husband shoot pictures of me everywhere I go.
