Another Place to Share

August 9, 2008 Shayne writes a comment at the Community site:

Well, it looks like I may be doing a Web 2.0 inservice in the fall.  Bet some of you will be, too.  Want to share ideas?

I created a wiki we can use:  http://12thingsinaction.pbwiki.com and explained a little about what I have in mind on my blog: http://msrussell.wordpress.com/

At her blog, Shayne writes:

I’m pretty sure someone else wrote in their blog about doing an inservice based on our All Together Now experience. The idea I pitched to my supervisor was for a workshop called “New Technologies for Programs, Promotion, and Productivity.” I would like to take maybe 3 or 4 of our 12 things and show examples of how they are being used (or could be used!) in a school library as part of a library program or class project, to promote library programs and services, or to help us be more organized and productive. For each thing, there would be time to brainstorm ideas and to get on a computer, create an account, and experiment (it’s a 5 hour inservice).

A hands on group exploration can be another venue for learning and discovery. Good idea!

Shayne writes: Hope some of you will join me-- I know there are a lot of good ideas out there, it would be great to have them all in one place!

I am glad to see this level of sharing. That's one of the keys to this new landscape.

Great idea Shayne, and yes, I have been volunteered to provide inservices to all the librarians in my district. I couldn't comment or edit your wiki. I have run into the same problem with mine. We were trying to collaborate on a meeting to test mine out but I couln't get past that issue of letting others edit. I think I figured it out now.
