My iPhone was Buzzing (Far & Away for Sure!)July 22, 2008 After posting Thing #1 yesterday, I drove up to Traverse City, Michigan for a week of R&R. I have one month left of summer break. It's gone by so fast. I actually had one of those "back to school" dreams I used to have in junior high last night... teachers, is that par for the course?Anyway, on the drive up and all last night my iPhone and email were buzzing with incoming messages because I get an alert every time someone adds a comment to our community site. As of right now, I believe we've added about 60 people to the learning group - from all over the world! So my hopes for far and away have been realized. We have many folks joining us from New York, many from Australia, and someone from Hong Kong! We also have all types of libraries represented and library students too. There's still time to try thing #1 and join us for the next six weeks. AND - do not worry if you forgot to add your blog URL to your comment, just add another comment. One thing about this program (and something I do with my students): Mistakes are fine! Typos are expected. I started a blog early in 2007 (which I'm embarassed to say I abandoned), using blogspot, which was more user friendly I think -- at least so far. I have begun to create a page on Edublog -- but had a lot of difficulty getting my password in correctly, even though I copied and pasted directly from e-mail! Once I play with it a litte more I will try to upload it the the community page. Thank you for doing this. I will give me an opportunity to try some of the technology I have only read about to date!
