Is Life Coaching For You?
January 8, 2006

If you're  ready to make a career change, you'll definitely want to read Dagmar Morrello's, Life Beyond Libraries: How A Librarian Became A Life Coach.

This idea of  being a Life Coach initially sounded like one of those fads to me. But there's a coach for just about everything. Even Oprah has professional life coach, Martha Beck as a regular guest on her show.

Anyway, Morrello spent many years as a librarian at all levels, and at a certain point in her career realized that her librarian profession was similar to that of a life coach. "I find many similarities between life coaching and library work: the support through change, the research I need to do for my clients-finding information to suit the individual circumstances and needs, the provision of great customer service, applying problem solving skills and the conversations I have with clients are similar to a reference interview so I utilize those skills as well."

It's certainly something to consider especially if you're a people person and need a change this new year.

Life coaching is really surging in popularity - although it seems like there are twice as many who want to "coach coaches" as there are that "coach people who need coaching" sometimes! Jim www.LifeCoachBuzz.com
