Sat Night Art Crawl

First Saturday night in Nashville is set aside for the ART CRAWL. Unfortunately I wore my feet out at ALA Annual and couldn't handle the gallery crawl (and trolley-ride) through town. Michael Tyler and David Goodman to the rescue. If I still want to be part of the art scene, but can't move, why not volunteer to help? 

	As we drove down Broadway in Nashville, I saw the balloons and the sign advertising an artist reception in progress.  I didn't expect Michael to roll up to the curb and tell me to hop out, go in the red doors & tell them I was there to volunteer.
	I staggered through the red doors and met George M. Anderjack,  the executive director of The Tennessee Art League.
	His beautiful daughters traveled from gallery to gallery and paused for a photo with Michael while I filled snack trays and opened wine bottles.

	Marylnda Augelli stands beside one of her art works. The youth in this work reminds me of my own teenagers angst and all the students I see in their hoodies.

	David Goodman, specializing in murals, sci-fi illustrations, and a wide variety of art tells me about an intriguing product he's working on with the inventor of CyberPunk.

One exciting thing that happens from attending events like the art crawl, is that I discover secrets and projects that are in the works. Sometimes these involve children's and young adult literature. I hope that I will be able to share many of these exciting developments in the next two months. In the meantime, I'll keep my eyes open for the chance to volunteer at something new and exciting.
