Who do you Jott?
November 21, 2007
The really cool voice message transcription service
Jott has been reviewed here before, but here are a few updates to an already great site. Now the question isn't who do you Jott in terms of people you know and have added to the system, but rather in terms of other sites you use. Jott has continued to add to their list of
Jott Links - connections to other social and web tools that we know and love.
For starters, there are the usual suspects. You can send preformatted Jott messages to any number of blog platforms as well as micro-content publishers like Twitter and Jaiku. Jott has also been adding other productivity tools. You can automatically Jott to the wonderful 30boxes calendar or RememberTheMilk's todo list. Recently a new tool was added. You can now Jott to Amazon and have the system return the top 5 hits for the item you asked about.
The more I think about it, the more I want someone to find a way to make Jott work in a library. Even if we do our best to remove them from schools, we know many (most?) high school students have phones. Maybe we could encourage students to set up the library as a Jott destination. Then they could Jott in their research needs and set up a time to receive assistance. Since Jotts can be sent as short voice mails through e-mail, maybe we could have students Jott an audio book review to the library for micro-podcasts? The tool is there, the possibilites are waiting to be discovered...
