Gaming: Numbers League and Skallywaggs
December 14, 2007

Have some fun with these mixed up, character building games.

Numbers League
This math based game uses positive and negative numbers to built super heros that can take on number villains.  Players build their heros from available head, body and leg parts and then add special items with positive and negative modifiers to match the number on a villain they want to catch.
Level: Elementary   Players: 2-6 (with expansion for 5/6)   Time: 30 minutes

Skallywaggs
Aaarghh, Maties. In this pirate game, another offering from Rochester-based Bent Castle Workshops, players are again matching heads, bodies and legs to create a crew of skallywags that can set sail. This game provides the same sort of reading, rule following, and critical thinking skills as found in collectable card games, but without the need to buy more cards.
Level: Middle    Players: 2-4    Time: 60 minutes
