Critical Clicks: Flickr
March 30, 2007

Want to get involved in a larger library community but don't see yourself as being a writer? That's okay! There is a thriving library community on the photo-sharing site Flickr as well. There are many different library groups you can join, including many different state-based groups. The Libraries and Librarians group has around 1,300 members who have contributed over 8,000 photos from around the world!

As a social network-based photo site, Flickr allows you to not only upload and view pictures, but also to comment on them and share them. Another cool tool that Flickr provides is the ability to add a note directly on the photo. A great example of this can be seen in a photo uploaded by libraryman - a group shot of the audience for a presentation he did.

So if you are an artist, or just have a cell phone with a camera you have never tried using, why not check out the library community on Flickr?
