Pownce - Good idea, but...
July 27, 2007

A new social network is available in beta? *yawn* Must be a new week. Pownce, though, promises to be different. To be more. It is supposed to fill in a number of roles, including micro-content publisher (i.e. Twitter) and allow me to share files with friends without having to use an online storage site. Share calendars, cool web links, meet new contacts - Pownce is going to do it all.

Just not yet.

I think it has great potential, however. There is certainly a steep hill to climb in the social software world, but Pownce pulls together a number of very nice features. It has gotten off to a great start and is one of the hottest invites on the Web right now. If you would like to check out Pownce while it is in Alpha testing, leave a comment below or e-mail me at digitalreshift [ at ] gmail [ . ] com and I will drop you an invite.
