Happy Blog Day 2007
August 31, 2007

August 31 is known, by some, as International Blog Day. There is no real reason for this; no mighty battle of the blogosphere or independence from some tyrannical source code is being celebrated today. The reason for August 31 being blog day is a bit less majestic. See if you write out the date in the opposite of American standards, you get 31/08. Now, let me just remove that pesky slash so we have 3108. Squint really hard, and as your eyes begin to water, the 3108 might just blur into looking something like B10g. Or at least that is the 1337 speak theory behind the selection of this day. What's that? 1337? Start squinting again....now doesn't it sort of look like "leet"? Yes, I know leet isn't a word, it is a shortened form of elite. Enough with the geekspeak, go read some blogs!
