I think the title of this post could have benefitted from a bit of spell checking. Perhaps I should have run it through SpellJax before posting? This new online spellchecker is about as simple as these things can be. A large text area sits waiting for you to type or copy/paste some misspellings. You can then click on the "check spelling" button to change to a proofing view that turns each incorrect word into a link that provides suggestions. While spellchecking is built in to the Mac OS as well as the Firefox browser for Windows, many schools use Internet Explorer which has no spell-check option. With SpellJax, students can no longer use the excuse that minimizing IE and opening Word to spell check takes to long. Just CTRL-T for a new tab, and check away!
